Stephen A. Meyers said, "Merchants National Bank is well capitalized, with capital levels well in excess of the regulatory definition of a well-capitalized bank. The board of directors and management have reviewed all elements of the voluntary program and determined that there are restrictions and costs associated with participation that would not be beneficial to the bank and its shareholders." |
The Merchants National Bank Merchants National Bank is listed on the National Register of Historic Places On January 3, 1921, Merchants National Bank opened the doors to a new marble bank building at 1015 Seventh Street in downtown Sacramento. Customers were greeted by name. The bank's founders worked at oak desks next to the front door. A great deal has changed since 1921. Merchants National Bank of Sacramento is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. FDIC deposit account insurance coverage is available on all non-interest bearing transaction deposit accounts and is fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account under the program. This program covers individuals, non-profits, and businesses. All other deposit accounts are insured by the FDIC up to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013.
